Melvin Cole
Melvin Cole has been actively serving in urban ministries for over 30 years. His ministry journey includes serving as a Youth Pastor in a local church and working on staff with Urban Young Life. Since 2006, he has been a part of Freedom Fire Urban Ministries, where he serves as Co-Pastor of Freedom Covenant Church and oversees the Friday Night Outreach program for middle school and high school students.
As an indigenous leader born in the urban core of Kansas City, Melvin brings a deep understanding of his community to his work. After completing his training through The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) in Wichita, he enrolled in the Equip online undergraduate program through North Park Seminary in Chicago, continuing his theological and leadership development.
Melvin is married to Eddie Marie, and together they have two sons, Melvin Jr. and Christopher, as well as four granddaughters. His life and work reflect a commitment to fostering hope and transformation in the urban core.
